Each year the Arlington Reformed Church family and volunteers put together food bags for those in need during the holidays. This year, we start collecting dry and canned foods for the baskets weekly on Sunday, October 29th and we end the food basket drive Sunday, December 10th. In addition to the food collected, we include a gift card for meat, produce, bread, and/or dairy purchases. On Friday, December 15th we put the baskets together, joyously share a casserole meal together, and deliver with the utmost of honor the baskets to families in need. What a blessing to be part of this giving through the holiday season.
Collections are suggested as follows, but contributing any week the items below is deeply appreciated:
10/29: instant potatoes and gravy packs/jars
11/05: canned vegetables, yams and cranberry sauce
11/12: canned pie filling & pie crust mix or brownie mix
11/19: boxed roll mixes and instant creamer
11/26: boxed cereals and granola bars
12/03: peanut butter and jelly/jam
12/10: canned juices and coffee
No refrigerator items, please. Financial donations toward the food gift cards are accepted; marked, “Holiday Food Bag Outreach.” Have any questions? See or contact Greg Albertson. Thank you!
He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. Psalm 146:7-8
